If you are a GSRNE volunteer
(or would like to be) please join us for our annual auction Tagging Party.
It's a great way for new volunteers to meet other members! We have some great
food treats thanks
to everyone bringing a potluck dish!! We all work hard getting the auction items
described and cataloged. Lots of members come each year... as it's a fun day.
It's a big job, but lots of hands make the workload light!
This year we are going to do the "Tagging"
on Saturday, March 20th at Jeannie's. It
will start at 11:00and end at approx. 5:00 pm. The party will continue on
Sunday, March 21st when we will be keying the
items into our database and packing each item into containers. That will be
about the same time frame.
We are looking forward to meeting our new volunteers! And seeing our "veterans"
is always such a blast. We look forward to seeing you!
What do we do at the Tagging Party? All
donated items for the Auction are brought to Jeannie’s home, by March 20th,

We look at all the items and
decide which items go into the Live Auction, Silent Auction A or Silent Auction
B. We physically move all the items into 3 different rooms. We color dot each
item and assign the Auction Catalog number to it.
Items
need an appealing description, so we need creative writers. We'll
give you copies of previous catalogs to help inspire you if needed. We make a
catalog listing all our sales items and sponsors. On Sunday, we'll enter the
descriptions into our database. Lastly, everything has to be boxed for transport
to the American Legion Hall the day of the Auction. We’re leaving out steps, but
this will give you an idea of what we accomplish!
