Tiki is an
energetic (medium energy but adolescent!) young dog - 1.5 years old.
She is very responsive to commands and wants to please. With good
direction, she is able to contain her energy and have it directed
appropriately. After
she plays outdoors, she is happy to snooze with me or play with her toys
indoors.
She has captured Josh's heart (one of my kitties). Josh is teaching
Tiki how to play with a kitty - they sit on the floor and pretend to
snap at each other and Josh whacks Tiki with his paw. My other cats come
around Tiki. Several have taught her that she better respect them and
not push it. Tiki accepts that. She would like to chase but gets
scolded for it. I now trust her loose in the house with the cats and
she is doing fine. She
would not do well in a house with a cat who was afraid and ran from her.
Tiki is incredibly agile. She runs, jumps and dashes up our open
stairwell without any issues. Tiki does have some problems with
her elbows which will require surgery but you would never know it.
She flies off of our back porch and takes huge flying leaps across the
snow to go after the big jolly ball! Doesn't know the concept of
just walking down a few steps when you could leap instead :-)
She is a smart girl and would be great for training work. She likes
being challenged. She loves balls and fuzzy squeaky toys. Chases her
tail for sheer delight! Rolls on her back with all four feet up in the
air while she plays with a ball or toy - very, very cute! She gets this
serious face with wrinkles on her forehead when she is concentrating or
listening to you. She does not mind water - walks right into my open
shower with me, unlike any of my other dogs. She is a fun dog!
