GSRNE has two major fundraisers during the year. The bulk of the funds needed to keep the rescue going are raised at these events. It is also a wonderful time to meet new members, catch up with ones you know and just have a great time with your dog! The 11th Annual Dog Days of Oxford-Community Day & Home Show, September 11, 2010 (rain date Sept 12) to be held on the grounds of Center School, Route 67, Oxford, CT 06478 from 9:00 AM till 4:00 PM. Gates open at 9:AM with the food court offering breakfast for the early risers.  All kinds of Dog Contests-Best Wagger, Most Vocal, Most Handsome (who would judge this...not me!!!) and so on....fun contests. Over 100 vendors including food and books and T-shirts and jewelry and lots of other things. Great kids activities and of course a Home Show...wow!  They offer demos of groomers and obedience trainers and dance and karate etc.  Also throughout day-search and rescue and obedience shows. A DJ for music and lots of other things.....double wow!!!

The12th Annual Pet Rock Festival will take place Sunday, Sept. 12, 2010 [raindate, Sept. 19] from noon to 5 p.m., at Quinsigamond Community College, 670West Boylston St., Worcester. Tickets: $12 adults, $5 kids.

This year, PH Productions brings us an impressive lineup of Boston based rock and roll to kick up the musical part of this massive animal benefit. Pet Rock is the largest animal expo on the East Coast. A daylong festival of fundraising fun for the entire family, including your dog, Pet Rock’s primary purpose is to promote responsible pet ownership, bring attention to animal cruelty and educate humans on a variety of animal related issues.

The Concord-Merrimack County SPCA 15th annual “Walk for the Animals” is on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the Northeast Delta Dental Soccer Field in Concord. Each year this important fundraiser supports our efforts to care for over 1600 homeless animals and offer humane education and assistance to our community. We do not receive any federal or state funding; we rely on donations from individuals and local businesses in order to operate the shelter throughout the year.

The Animal Refuge League's 13th annual Paws in the Park Dog Walk to be held Sunday, September 26th in Portland’s Deering Oaks Park.

As the ARL's biggest and most visible fundraiser, this event attracts many animal lovers who come to walk, browse and look at different breeds and types of dogs.  Under the sprawling shade trees of Deering Oaks, we will set up a booth with materials and information on our rescue German Shepherds. There will be food, drinks, contests, demonstrations, and of course, the walk itself. 

We do hope you will stop by and say hello to the Maine crew.

5th Annual Dog Walk & Festival for STARS (Stratford Animal Rescue Society) will be held October 9, 2010 (rain date Oct 10) on the grounds of Paradise Green, corner of Main Street & Huntington Road, Stratford, CT 06614 from 10:00 AM till 4:00 PM. The Dog Walk Registration will be from 10-10:45 and the walk starts at 11:00. There's dog contests-Best costume, Look-a-like w/owner, Trick.  All kinds of activities for kids.....fishin' for ducks, face painting, scavenger hunt. All day music...a micro chip clinic and a silent auction of great sounding items!

The Chelmsford Dog Association is holding Howl’ween, a Dog & Costume Show & Trade Fair on October 16, 2010, from 11AM-3PM at the Parlee Farm field located the end of Pine Hill Rd. by Galloway Rd in Chelmsford. This is the same location as the Parlee’s famous annual Corn Maze.  The event is being held to benefit the Chelmsford Dog Association in our proposal to build a dog park in Chelmsford. The rain date will be October 17, 2010.

The Standish Humane Society is holding their 16th annual Folk & Fur Fest "Doggiepawlooza" and benefit walk for animals. An organization dedicated to the care and placement of lost, stray and abandoned pets in southeastern MA. GSRNE's Annual Auction Fundraiser

The 2010, 11th Annual Live Benefit Auction will be held on Sunday, April 18th at the  American Legion Hall, 162 Winn St; Burlington, MA. The silent auction starts at 11:30 and the Live Auction at 12:00, so get there a little early to peruse the items. Ends approx. 4:30pm.

The 2009, 10th Annual Live Benefit Auction will be held on Sunday, April 19th at the  American Legion Hall, 162 Winn St; Burlington, MA. The silent auction starts at 12:30 and the Live Auction at 1:00, so get there a little early to peruse the items. Ends approx. 4:30pm.

The 2008,  9th Annual Live Benefit Auction was held on April 20th at the  American Legion Hall, 162 Winn St; Burlington, MA. The silent auction starts at 12:30, so get there a little early to peruse the items. Ends at 4:00pm.

The 2007,  8th Annual Live Benefit Auction is being held on April 29th at the Tewksbury Knights of Columbus in MA. The silent auction starts at 12:30, sso get there a little early to peruse the items. Ends approximately at 4:00pm.

The 2006, 7th Annual Live Benefit Auction is being held on April 23  (at the same Elk's Hall as last year) in Lowell. Lowell, MA.

The 2005, 6th Annual Live Benefit Auction was held on April 17th at the Elk's Hall in Lowell, MA.

The 2004, 5th Annual Auction was a fantastic success! It was held on April 25, at the American Legion Hall, North Chelmsford, MA.  Everyone had a great time and the items were fabulous. Check out some of the items we had for sale.

The 2003, 4th Annual Live Benefit Auction, was held on April 6, from 12:30-3:00 at the Knights of Columbus Hall inTewksbury, MA. It was even better than last year. The 2002, 3rd Annual Live Benefit Auction was held in the Elk's Hall in Chelmsford, MA. It was a resounding success!

GSRNE's Annual Membership
Appreciation Picnic

2010 Membership Appreciate Picnic will be held on Saturday, May 29th at the 4H Fairgrounds in Westford, MA. Members or by Invitation Only

2009 Membership Appreciation Picnic will be held on Sunday, June 14th at the Hopkinton State Park in MA.

We have the Pavilion booked, which is under cover and will fit up to 150-175 people, a 1.5 acre field adjacent, along with trees and trails nearby.  The park contains 1450 acres so there is plenty of room for us all .The picnic is usually potluck (with TONS of wonderful food), and we have a lovely time meeting other GSRNE members and putting faces to names.

was held on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2005 at the Borderland State Park, Easton/Sharon, MA.

We had a wonderful time with our 2005 Walk 'n' Wag fundraiser this year. There were terrific items to buy, exciting demos and great food. But the best part was getting to meet other dog lovers while raising money to help New England's GSDs. take a peek
