The Transport

June 7, 2008. Vanessa hopped back into the van, and she and Chris headed out on the first leg of her transport. Since Vanessa is a Maine dog, per a recent MA law, she needed to go into isolation for a few days. So the plan was for Chris to meet Priscilla and I at a halfway point in New Hampshire, where we would pick up Vanessa and take her directly to the isolation facility in Massachusetts.

"Goodbye old life. It can only get better from here."

"Here we are, Vanessa. Looks like we have some time to kill before your journey continues."

"I bet you thought nobody wanted you, didn't you."

"You are such a sweet and gentle soul, with so much love to give."

"With eyes that are sure to win the world over."

"Not to mention such a playful ol' gal." "Who can't seem to get enough fill of tummy rubs."

"Ooooo, you're getting to know me well, Chris, hehe!"

"You are a GSRNE dog, Vanessa, and you are SAFE now, for the rest of your life."

"AND you have hundreds of people who already care about you now, too."

"HUNDREDS?!"

"And I was praying for just ONE. Now I have HUNDREDS!"

"So where are they all?"

"Well, one of us is right here to escort you into Massachusetts, Vanessa.
You'll meet many more on the path to your new life."
